Primary Recruitment Information
Hello Potential New Members!
Joining a sorority is a transformative opportunity for young, empowered woman to be part of something larger than herself. Sorority life not only means lifelong sisterhood connections, but meaningful networking and social relationships, academic encouragement, leadership development, and a truly memorable college experience. Our community holds itself to high standards, with a strong shared commitment to philanthropy, community involvement, and academic excellence.
The Cal Poly Panhellenic community stands by a values-based recruitment process. We prioritize inclusive, welcoming, and meaningful bonds within the chapters and sisterhoods of Panhellenic. We encourage all admitted non-male identifying students to register for recruitment. Come find your home in Cal Poly Panhellenic!

The process
Primary Recruitment follows a mutual selection process. Throughout the two weekends, potential new members (PNMs) will meet active members and visit all nine chapter houses. After each round, both PNMs and chapters will narrow their selections. At the conclusion of the process, bids are extended to invite PNMs to join a chapter.
Supporting Potential New Members
Recruitment Counselors (RCs) are Panhellenic members who temporarily disaffiliate from their chapters to provide unbiased guidance and support throughout the recruitment experience to PNMs. Recruitment Counselors also escort potential new members to each sorority house and help ensure they arrive at every round safely. Once registrations are processed, each PNM is assigned to a Recruitment Counselor group.
In the weeks leading up to recruitment, your RC will connect with you using the contact information provided in your registration to introduce themselves, share important details, and begin building a supportive relationship. During recruitment week, your RC will continue to guide you through the process and serve as a confidential resource for any questions or concerns. PNMs are encouraged to rely on their RC for guidance, questions, or concerns throughout the process — they are there to fully support every potential new member.
How Can I Learn More?
As recruitment plans are finalized, updates and important information will be shared on our social media (@calpolypanhellenic) and website (calpolypanhellenic.org).
There is also a PNM orientation that all PNMS are required to attend prior to the beginning for Formal Recruitment. This session provides an overview of the sorority experience, a brief introduction of every chapter, and an explanation of the process in detail to help best prepare you for the upcoming two weeks—and your next four years at Cal Poly.
