Who is eligible for Pi Beta Phi?

Our recruitment team will be recruiting members across all years at Cal Poly, ranging from first years to seniors. GPA and campus and community involvement will also be taken into consideration for membership. To be eligible, potential new members must be enrolled as a student at Cal Poly and not hold membership in another National Panhellenic Conference organization. Potential new members that went through Fall 2026 Panhellenic primary recruitment are eligible to join Pi Beta Phi if they did not sign an MRABA and receive a bid.

Financial Commitment Overview

There are no costs associated with registering for Pi Beta Phi’s recruitment process! For potential new members that receive a bid to join Pi Beta Phi, New Member costs and chapter dues will look similar to the other Panhellenic organizations on campus. Pi Beta Phi is also looking to lease a chapter house in the community as early as Fall 2027, and will determine live-in vs. live-out member dues once housing is secured.

To learn more about Pi Beta Phi’s new member and initiated member dues, sign up for a one-on-one meeting (sign-ups will be available on September 9, with meetings starting September 10!).

Who will you meet during this process?

During Pi Phi’s recruitment process, every potential new member will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a Pi Phi consultant. Pi Phi consultants are recent graduates of their own collegiate chapters, and can offer insight into our recruitment process, leadership opportunities, financial obligations, and what being a Pi Phi will look like at Cal Poly! During Recruitment Weekend, potential new members will also have the opportunity to meet current members of a nearby Pi Phi chapter and other Pi Phi alumnae, who will be a part of conversations throughout the weekend.

What is planned for Fall Semester?

Pi Beta Phi will be welcomed into the Panhellenic community from day one and offer a very similar experience to the other sororities on campus! Throughout the fall semester, new members will participate in weekly new member meetings, fun sisterhood events, a new member retreat, elections for the first Chapter Leadership Team, initiation, and other celebratory events to commemorate the chapter’s installation in December! The chapter will continue to have a full calendar of events in the spring (sisterhoods, socials, philanthropy fundraisers, etc.), and will be able to shape what events and traditions are established for years to come!
