Sigma Kappa

One Heart, One Way

A Message From Sigma Kappa’s president

As President of the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo chapter of Sigma Kappa, it is my absolute joy to introduce you to our chapter, which I am beyond proud to be a part of! Sigma Kappa has served as a sisterhood, a home away from home, a support system, and an opportunity for growth for Cal Poly women since our chapter was founded in 1973. As the first women’s Greek organization at Cal Poly, Epsilon Omega takes great pride in the legacy we’ve built and the community we continue to nurture. Today, our chapter is home to 270 incredible women who are united by a strong sisterhood, togetherness, and belonging. Though we are diverse in countless ways, we stand firmly united in our love for one another and for this chapter. I can genuinely say that I have met my best friends who will show up for me, and each other, always. Our core values of personal growth, friendship, service, and loyalty guide us in everything we do, from supporting each other through the challenges of college life to stepping up as leaders and volunteers in the San Luis Obispo community.

We are deeply committed to our philanthropies, including our work with the Alzheimer’s Association and Inherit the Earth, which allow us to serve with purpose and make a meaningful impact. Alongside our service, we are all about the fun times and connections that come with being a member of Sigma Kappa, whether that’s hiking Bishop Peak, enjoying beach days at Avila, sisterhood pool parties, chit-chatting at sisterhood events, or simply sharing laughter during late-night study sessions. Over the years, Sigma Kappa women have created a space where sisters can feel safe, supported, and loved. I hope you feel the energy, authenticity, and possibility that define our chapter. We welcome you to our chapter and the Panhellenic community, where you can grow, thrive, and truly belong.

Best,

— President Giulia Padoan

Scholarship Opportunites

Scholarships are a valuable resource to help ease the financial commitment of Panhellenic membership. A variety of options are available to support members with dues and related expenses, making sorority life more accessible and affordable.

Available Scholarship Opportunities:

  • Chapter Scholarships: Individual chapters offer scholarships, such as but not limited to need-based or merit-based scholarships to active members. These awards are funded through chapter fundraising efforts or alumni donations and are designed to directly offset member dues.

  • National Organization Scholarships: National sorority organizations often provide scholarships such as but not limited to, academic achievement, leadership involvement, and financial need. These awards may assist with chapter dues, housing costs, or overall educational expenses.

  • Panhellenic Scholarships: The Panhellenic Council offers campus-wide scholarships to members of any affiliated chapter. These scholarships typically recognize leadership, academic excellence, community involvement, and demonstrated financial need. Scholarships vary by quarter, visit our scholarship tab for more information.

Together, these opportunities help ensure that finances do not stand in the way of sisterhood, leadership development, and the full sorority experience.
